About English Insurance Group
English Insurance Group is an independent insurance agency. Since 1985, we have proudly served the Puget Sound community as a family-owned-and-operated business. As a well-established broker, we are appointed with many premier insurance companies to best meet your business insurance and personal insurance needs.
After over twenty years operating out of downtown Edmonds, Marcia English returned her business to the Cedar Valley Office Park, opening under the name of English Insurance Group, LLC in November 1, 2005. Kristie English joined the business at this time as the Executive Vice President after having been educated in business management and corporate training & development. In 2020, we moved our offices to the North Creek Clubhouse in Bothell.
As independent insurance agents, we represent many strong and reputable companies. We take great care when securing insurance with the best company to meet the needs of our clients. We focus on prompt and efficient service. Each and every one of our clients is important to us. While we write all types of insurance, we are particularly experienced in writing insurance for small to medium sized businesses.

Meet the team
Kristie R. English, M.Ed., CIC, CRIS, MLIS
Principal, Licensed Insurance Agent
Kristie English brings to the agency a strong background in business and education. Her professional work experience in such industries as healthcare, banking, technology and education provide her with the understanding of the diverse insurance needs of individuals and businesses. Our Adult Family Home insurance program is managed by Kristie.
Kristie works extensively with contractors, and has earned her designation as a Construction Risk & Insurance Specialist (CRIS).
Outside of work, Kristie enjoys spending time with her husband and twin daughters. She also works one-on-one with students who have language-based learning disabilities, and volunteers her time with the Northshore School District as a memeber of their Dyslexia Committee Task Force. Passionate about education and our youth, Kristie is a Leader of her daughters' Girl Scouts Troop, and teaches high school students entrepreneurship and financial literacy skills through her volunteer work with Washington Business Week.
Marcia English
Founder, Licensed Insurance Agent
Marcia English has been a licensed agent in the State of Washington for over 40 years specializing in the insurance needs of individuals and businesses. As a business owner whose parents were also self-employed entrepreneurs, she understands the needs and concerns of owners of small and medium-sized businesses.
In her spare time, Marcia volunteers on a Disaster Assistance Team for the Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross helping people recover from home and apartment fires. She also volunteers her time at the Lynnwood Food Bank to assist people experiencing food insecurity, and enjoys taking on home improvement projects.
Susan Brown
Commercial Account Manager, Licensed Insurance Agent
Susan has more than 15 years of management experience in the restaurant industry ranging from fast food to casual dining, and loved the fast-paced environment and great conversations with diners. She then moved into the dental industry, managing several dental offices within a large dental support organization for 7 years where she learned about insurance and the claims process.
Susan enjoys spending time with her daughter, her wonderful, supportive husband, and their families. They enjoy being outdoors visiting new places, hiking, being on the lake kayaking, going to the beach or just sitting by a cozy fire with some s'mores.
Summer Ortiz
Account Manager, Licensed Insurance Agent
Working in the service industry for more than 20 years, Summer brings a strong background in management and customer service experience to our team. She understands the importance of building lasting relationships, and is experienced in explaining insurance coverages to clients. Her goal is to be your “Go To” expert for all your insurance needs, actively listening to your concerns and striving to exceed your expectations. You can always count on her to follow through.
A native to the Pacific Northwest, Summer enjoys reading, lifting weights, and binge-watching crime documentaries with her partner Christian. They have two fur pups, Bailey and Bruiser, and 12 nieces and nephews to spoil. Go Hawks!

English Insurance Group is conveniently located in the historic North Creek Clubhouse, just off Exit 24 on I-405, across the street from the Northshore YMCA. Our office rests in a 5-acre wildlife preserve complete with an aviary pond. Our parking lot also serves as the trailhead for the North Creek walking trails.
